Why It Matters
We give more families a brighter tomorrow.
Every day, thousands of North Carolina families grapple with the delicate balance between their children’s needs and the daily challenges they face. When families become overwhelmed, children are at risk of abuse and neglect, potentially leading to foster care. Together, we can make a difference, ensuring that families stay together with enduring, loving, and safe relationships.

HOMEBUILDERS® National Outcomes
The underlying philosophy of HOMEBUILDERS® is that it is best to raise children in their own family. Placement in foster care is traumatic for children and it does not teach families how to keep their children safe in the future. HOMEBUILDERS® minimizes barriers to services, using specific strategies to enhance family member motivation, and teach skills designed to improve family functioning and alter the environment to reduce stress.

Intensive Care For Families In Crisis
We are crisis-responsive and utilize evidence-based and evidence-informed interventions to best meet the needs of families.
By strengthening families, we can prevent children from being removed from their homes. Through this program, HOMEBUILDERS® services are provided for a period of 28 days, 10 hours per week, with a minimum of 38 service hours to address the specific needs of the family.
Services are delivered to families in their own homes and communities, at times that are most convenient for them. Our specialists utilize these in-home services to build connections and support systems that enable the family and the child to thrive.
