Items provide youth with self-confidence, a sense of empowerment, and provides something to call their own. Donation drives are one way we help meet youth’s immediate needs. Drives also help raise awareness of Children’s Home Society, the foster care system, and barriers youth face. Thank you for your support!
Suggested Supplies:
- Hygiene duffle bags: Duffle bags are filled with a stuffed animal for young children or book for older children, a blanket, shampoo & conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, and deodorant.
- Diaper drive: Collect diapers and pull ups in all sizes with wipes.
- Gift Card drive: Gift cards to retailers such as Target, Walmart, Amazon, or Visa could help us purchase essential needs for children coming into care or a family in crisis. Gas cards and fast-food restaurants could help youth as they navigate life on their own.
- Suitcase drive: Ensure that children never receive a trash bag to move their belongings.
- School supply drive: Collect pens, pencils, markers, folders, binders, glue scissors, backpacks, etc.
- Graduation care package: Send a college student off to school with the essentials. Fill a collapsible laundry basket with a bath towel, wash cloth, toilet paper, paper towels, razors, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.
